Homecoming idea
The Wall Glow-Up
Bend string lights into the question, then get them to kill the lights.
- Cost
- $12-25
- Effort
- medium
- Best for
- the person whose room or garage you can get into to set up in secret
What to put on the sign
“You LIGHT me up. HOCO?”
One line, big letters. If it needs a second read, cut it down.
The plan
Tape a warm-white string light strand into HOCO letters across a wall in their room, their garage, or a fence they walk past after dark. Shape each letter with clear tape and small command hooks so the bulbs sit tight on the lines. You plug it in, wait for dusk, then get them to flip off the overhead light so the letters are the only thing glowing.

- 4Wait for dark, cut the room lights, and let the glow do the asking.
